Dawnstar (Dovahzul: Kunsevu) is the capital of The Pale, a hold of Cortoriacum, Eurasia. It is the largest city in The Pale, and is one of the most important ports in Cortoriacum. It is the seat from which Skald the Elder rules the pale.
The city itself is frequently buffeted by the cold arctic winds, and as such is almost completely covered in snowfall year round, except during the summer months in the south. The city was the location of the Vaermina Controversy of 1897, which involved a cult of Vaermina worshippers active in an abandoned Legionary fort northeast of the city. The cult was eradicated by the Vigilants of Stendarr and the Penitus Occulatus.
