Cenhelm Iron-Heart, born March 15th, 1958, is the current High King of Cortoriacum, having been elected to the position after the death of Vigthjar Greycloak in 2001. Prior to this, he served as the Jarl of Markarth, the title of which passed to his younger brother, Sidgeir, Jarl of Markarth, and also as a Tribune in the Eurasian Legions. He married in 1987 to Ysalda Iron-Heart, with whom he has three children.
Cenhelm received his surname, Iron-Heart, due to his conduct as an officer during the Atanosian War. He was responsible for several questionable actions against enemy prisoners, including the infamous Caelux Massacre, in which Eurasian legionaries summarily executed almost 200 of the Atanosian President's Guard who had surrendered. His tenure on the Cortoriacan throne has been similarly divisive, with his signing of a royal proclamation which effectively exiled almost 4,000 Cortoriacan Christians and Muslims.
