The Grand Duchy of Finland (Finnish: Suomi; Swedish: Finland), also officially known as Suomi, is a state of Aloia. The capital of Finland is Helsingfors, known in Finnish as Helsinki.

Finland is historically a member of the Aloian region of Scandia, consisting of all the territory once under Swedish dominance. Other Scandian states are Svea itself, Danmark, Trondhjem, Ingria, Karelia, and Iceland. A modern remnant of this time is the prominence of the Swedish language in Finland. Most Finnish cities are commonly referred to by their Swedish names rather than their native Finnish names. Some, especially in the south were established by the Swedes and have no Finnish translation.
