The Order largely follows the doctrine of the Church of Cadiz, but maintains a distinct militaristic nature and focus on nobility. It was founded in 15th century La Capra (in north Salamanca, Arveyres) by husband and wife Beñat and Argiñe Ibarra.
Taught in the Order is that the Supreme Bishops are Jesus and Mary’s viceroys over all the land the Order has conquered, and that the Order’s goal is to destroy all evil in the world that threatens the Church of Cadiz. The apostles, which includes the Supreme Bishops, of the Order are said to be the modern successors to Jesus’ apostles.
The Order has been somewhat of an object of criticism in recent years, with pundits claiming that the House of Ibarra created it as a way of justifying their leadership over Saint Beñat and Argiñe, but also for the Order’s persistent conservatism on social issues.
The two primary houses of worship that belong to the Order are the Cathedral of Saint Beñat in San Beñaten Hiria, and the Cathedral of Saint Argiñe in unincorporated territory on the island of Saint Argiñe.
